Introduction
ZKTeco's Alcohol Detection-Enabled Smart Access Control Solution delivers a proactive approach to workplace safety and productivity by seamlessly integrating alcohol level detection with advanced Biometric Authentication. The system is designed to restrict access or attendance for individuals exceeding the defined alcohol threshold, while allowing seamless authentication for those within permissible limits, ensuring compliance, accountability and operational efficiency.
Solution Illustration
Working Mechanism
Step 1: Alcohol Detection
· The user is prompted to blow into the USB Alcohol Tester connected to the G4L Biometric Terminal.
· The device measures alcohol levels and displays the result on the G4L screen.
Step 2: Conditional Access Based on Alcohol Levels
Scenario 1: Access Granted
· If the alcohol measurement is below the defined tolerance level, the device proceeds to authenticate the user.
· Once authenticated, the door unlocks, granting access or attendance gets registered.
Scenario 2: Access Denied
· If the alcohol measurement is above the tolerance level, the system blocks user authentication.
· Access is denied, and the event is logged in the system for reporting and compliance tracking.
Solution Components
G4L
G4L is a high-performance Multi-Biometric Access Control Terminal equipped with ZKTeco’s enhanced Visible Light Facial Recognition Technology and powered by the Android 9.0 system. It supports a wide range of authentication methods including Face, RFID Card and Dynamic QR Code scanning on the ZKBio CVSecurity mobile application. Additionally, it is compatible with 4G network, offering robust capabilities for both access control and time attendance applications.
USB Alcohol Tester
A USB Alcohol Tester is a compact breath analysis device that can be connected directly to the G4L via USB to enhance workplace safety by detecting the presence of alcohol in individuals prior to granting access or recording attendance.
Equipped with fast-response sensors, the tester measures alcohol concentration from the user breath when blown and communicates the results to the connected terminal. Based on predefined thresholds, the system determines whether to allow or restrict access, helping organizations enforce safety protocols and maintain operational integrity.
Solution Advantages
Enhanced Workplace Safety: Prevents entry of intoxicated individuals into sensitive or hazardous areas.
Compliance and Reporting: Automatically logs alcohol detection data and access attempts for audits.
On-spot Detection: Immediate validation and control access based on breath analysis results.
Access Control & Time Attendance: The G4L terminal can also function independently as a standalone Access Control and Time Attendance device, offering multi-biometric authentication, dynamic QR code scanning and seamless connectivity options, even without alcohol detection integration.
